Recently, Krafton announced pre-registration for the upcoming BattleGrounds Mobile India, after PUBG Mobile was banned in India last year. Players are wondering right now if they can carry over their progress and inventory to BattleGrounds Mobile India.

A big YouTuber, Ghatak Gaming claimed that the inventory of all PUBG Mobile players will be available in BattleGrounds Mobile India, while Krafton hasn't officially claimed yet. Moreover, IGN reported that it is unlikely to get a Progress rollover, and according to IGN, published Tencent ceased operations of the Game back in October 2020, while not confirming if the Indian user data, including in-app purchase was purged or not.

Also, Krafton doesn't want their new game to anyhow be linked to previous PUBG Mobile as they are telling content creators not to use the 'Pubg Mobile' term when talking about the game, indicating that old user data like other items and skins won't be making a comeback.

Krafton also revealed a Privacy Statement for their new game regarding the whole Data Privacy issue in India. the Privacy Policy reads:
'Your personal information will be stored and processed on servers located in India and Singapore. However, we may transfer your data to other countries and/or regions to operate the game service and/or to meet legal requirements. In the event of transfer to another country or region, we will take steps to ensure that your information receives the same level of protection as if it remained in India'

While the new Battlegrounds Mobile India is going to be exclusive to Indian people only and will have its own eSports environment as well. The overall gameplay will be similar to the previous PUBG Mobile with some modifications to not get into trouble anyhow with the Indian govt. The teaser launched by Tencent also hinted at a map that looks very much similar to the 'Sanhok' map of PUBG Mobile.

However, a PUBG Mobile Pro Player, TSM Ghatak claims that the new Battlegrounds Mobile India users will get their data rolled over. Speaking about this matter Ghatak said:

One of the most asked questions was about the old accounts and what would happen to the inventory and other items. There is good news for them as all the investments players had made in the game will be retained in Battlegrounds Mobile India account as it is. So, chill and enjoy.

Now, it's upon you whether to believe in it or not...

Battlegrounds Mobile India is expected to launch in the second or third week of June, while the official Release Date has not been revealed yet.
